ABOUT US

Our property “North Run” (formally part of Booabula station) sits on the banks of the Billabong Creek at Wanganella, New South Wales, the birth place of the famous Australian Peppin Merino.

The property has been in the Wallace family since 1912 with Merino sheep breeding at the heart and soul of the operation. North Run has a self-replacing merino flock of approximately 6000 breeding ewes on 20,000 hectares. Our sheep graze native pastures on saltbush open plains country.

We would love to share with you our passion for Merino sheep and the environmentally friendly, sustainable products they produce.

JOHN & SUSIE

John Wallace is the fifth generation at North Run, he is passionate about all things sheep and wool, John completed a bachelor of Agriculture from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, John continues to build on his skills base by undertaking courses in ewe and weaner management, he holds a professional wool classer certificate and has recently returned from an Opportunities in Asia trip to China through ANZ. Susie has a corporate background in Marketing and Finance and has worked for Fosters group, Carlton United Breweries, Treasury Wine Estates and Local Land Services. She is passionate about wool products and it’s sustainability.

BETTY & MAC WALLACE

Mac (4th generation) and Betty Wallace took over the reins of “North Run” in 1975. They’ve expanded the property footprint to include Romani and Mirandale north of the township of Booroorban in the Riverina, and worked tirelessly to develop the merino flock into what it is today. They have also implemented many environmentally friendly sustainable practices. They are passionate about farming and the wool industry, Betty is usually out before dawn and back after dusk scaling the farm and checking on the sheep and pastures, her smile is never broader than when she’s on the four wheeler out in the paddock. Mac continues to play an integral role in the farm direction and day to day running of the property, Mac was a local councillor for over 20 years on the Windouran, Conargo and Edward River Councils and a strong advocate for our region.
